Virgil Abloh and Kim Jones’s collaborates with Nike
Update your football kit with two of fashion’s biggest names, Virgil Abloh of Off-White and Louis Vuitton and Kim Jones of Dior Homme. The two designers have partnered with Nike to each create their own unique take on the traditional football jersey. Abloh draws inspiration from his youth while Jones draws his from the late ‘70s London-punk aesthetic. With these two names being the most buzzed about in the menswear sector, trust us when we say this is one collaboration that’s going to fly off the shelves.
Louis Vuitton's Collecter's Items for the FIFA World Cup
To mark its ongoing relationship with FIFA and their third time participating in this iconic sporting event, Louis Vuitton has three brand new projects in conjunction with the 2018 World Cup. Yoox’s Soccer Couture Capsule Collection
Featuring an all-star designer team, some of the world’s most fashion-forward brands take the field with Yoox for #YOOXSOCCERCOUTURE to interpret their nationalities though prints and unique designs. From Portugal’s Marques’Almeida to England’s Vivienne Westwood, each brand will pay homage to the sport with their own sweatshirt and t-shirt collection that fashion fans would be able to wear to support their favourite teams. Past collaborations have featured established designers such as Dries Van Noten, J.W Anderson, Marni and Paul Smith. Part of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to Stars for Children, a charitable foundation founded in 2016 by Russian player Alexander Kerzhakov to support children in need and help them get involved in sports.
It’s no secret that Hublot loves football. A branded licensee for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the Hublot Loves Football tagline was emblazoned everywhere at the Baselworld 2018 watch fair. This year, the Swiss watchmaker has created its first-ever smartwatch in honor of the FIFA World Cup, and as it name suggests, all the Word Cup referees will be wearing the Big Band Referee watch during the match. But the most exciting thing about the watch is the application that was specially developed for the World Cup—an app which will announce matches 15min before kick-off, as well as every yellow and red card, and player substitution. The watch will also vibrate and display the word “goal” across the dial instantaneously each time a goal is scored. The dial will also display the match statistics for the duration of each match, including the score, number of cards, names of the goal-scorers, player substitutions, and match time.
