International jazz aces syncopating at the 2018 Java Jazz Festival, David Foster with Anggun in a two-city concert, and maestro Domenico Nordio’s violin recital highlight the month of March 2018. Check them out below and mark your calendar!

On March 1, Alternative rock band Sheila On 7 will throw a concert at The Pallas Fairground Building, SCBD Jakarta. To accommodate the Sheila Gang fan club, tickets for the concert are set at Rp300.000; showtime: 8pm.

Dionne Warwick, the Goo Goo Dolls, Vanessa Williams, Lee Ritenour, and The Commodores are just a few of the jazz greats set to enliven the 14th Java Jazz Festival, which starts on March 2. A three-day pass for the annual event at JIEXPO Kemayoran, Jakarta, costs Rp1,830,000.

Pianist cum composer Ananda Sukarlan will present “Differences Unite”, a piano recital with highlights from his latest composition, “No More Moonlight”: an expression of sadness over the current global situation on March 5. On March 7, The Italian Cultural Institute Jakarta presents a violin recital by Maestro Domenico Nordio, who has an impressive track record of performances at prestigious concert halls like the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Showtime: 7pm; venue: Gedung Kesenian Jakarta.

Atma Jaya Catholic University theatre club is to stage NARADA 2018: “Soerat Dari Negeri Lajang Lajang”, on March 9, a musical drama set in pre-independence days. Director: Stephanoes Tjiproet; tickets Rp85,000-Rp250,000; venue: Gedung Kesenian Jakarta; showtime: 2pm and 7pm.

On March 12, American girl band Fifth Harmony will rock Jakarta in their first-ever concert in Indonesia. Rising to fame thanks to social media, the quartet hit the Billboard 200 Top 10 thanks to three studio albums. Venue: The Kasablanka, Jakarta; tickets: Rp878.050, Rp1,136,300 and Rp1,549,500; showtime: 8pm.

A successful concert in Yogyakarta last year drove David “The Hitman” Foster to launch David Foster & Friends—Brian McKnight and Anggun—in a two-city concert at Dyandra Convention Center in Surabaya with two days (March 22 & 23) at De Tjolomadoe community centre in Solo. Tickets: Diamond Rp5m, Platinum Rp2.5m, Gold Rp1.5m and Silver Rp600,000; showtime: 8pm.

On March 27, Vizion Vibe Entertainment has confirmed that LANY American, the three-piece alternative band from Los Angeles, California, will rock aficionados at The Pallas, SCBD Jakarta. Tickets starts at Rp550,000; showtime: 10pm.  

The Chainsmokers: American DJ/production duo Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart will sway party animals with their best dance tunes at ‘The Chainsmokers Live’ revelry at the JIEXPO Kemayoran, Jakarta on March 30. Promoters Townsquare and Third Eye Management set the tickets for the 4pm-11pm happening are Rp125,000 and Rp250,000.
