It’s time to take a trip to a land of make-believe and dreams with one of the greatest animation studios and celebrate the return the great Hayao Miyazaki. If you have been a fan of animation during the last three decades, then you have probably seen one of the many animated masterpieces from Studio Ghibli. Seen by many as the pinnacle of Asian animation, which is supported by worldwide popularity, the world of Ghibli has found its way to Jakarta.
Right up until the September 17 you can enjoy an experience like no other as you take a close-up trip in the world of Studio Ghibli. With more than 20 features and short films, you can see a closer side of your favourite animations. From everyone’s loveable My Neighbour Totoro and the majestic Howl's Moving Castle to the otherworldly Spirited Away you can see how they were all made.
With many of the studio’s films having already been shown over the last few months, the hype for this one-time exhibition is high. Many pieces of art will be on show and on sale with signing opportunities also on offer.
Taking place at the Ritz-Carlton, Pacific Place on Sudirman, the exhibition offers three ticket types, which focus students, the under-11s and those over 65. Along with regular tickets, there are also VIP tickets on offer. Those lucky enough to purchase VIP tickets can enjoy full excess during the exhibition and entrance to the VIP lounge.
Just be careful with your camera as many of the exhibit’s best offerings are on loan from Japan and are not allowed to be photographed.
