On August 25 and 26, C’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant is inviting Jakartans gourmet for a two-day dinner crafted by special guest Chef Kishimoto from Michelin-star restaurant L’Embellir in Japan. The dinner will present a six-course menu paired with a selection of fine wines. Don’t miss this one out!
Riva restaurant in The Park Lane hotel is hosting a “Journey to Morocco” dinner-theme party on August 26. The Moroccan evening will feature a wide-range of the country’s delicacies along with a special belly dance performance against the exotic Middle Eastern tunes.
From August 26 to 28, Grand Indonesia will be hosting MakersMarket 2016: the biggest celebration of local craftsmanship and urban lifestyle pop-up market. The three-day event will see products from more than 100 tenants selling myriad Indonesian craft products, ranging from leather goods, woodworks, poetry, accessories and workshops, among others.
From August 22 to 28, 'Belvedere Martini Week' will hit the town at six outlets all around the city: Olivier, Pao Pao, Chamber, Publik Markette, De Luca and Basque. However, Chamber will stage an early special appearance by Belvedere's Brand Ambassador Asia Pacific on August 18th; Basque will have theirs at the same scheduled week, while Publik Markette is hosting “Publik Night Out” on August 26th with special performance by Lala Huta, and Olivier Jakarta will kick off theirs on the same date from 8pm onwards.

Art Stage Jakarta, Indonesia’s first world-class boutique art fair, will celebrate the country’s vibrant and diverse contemporary art scene starting on August 5th with a private viewing by invitation only. Other opening times are: August 6, 1pm-9pm and August 7, 11am-9pm; venue: Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City Level 3.
The Indonesia Convention & Exhibition (ICE) in BSD City, Tangerang, will house the 10-day GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2016 starting from August 11th to 21st. This annual automotive exhibition is a huge celebration of the country’s automotive industry that will showcase the latest wheels from many luxury automotive brands, including Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi and many more. Art lovers should not miss their chance to attend “Bio Fantasy: A Tribute to Chairil Anwar” exhibition at Salihara Gallery starting from August 14 to 28. The event will exhibit the Indonesian maestro’s poems written in calligraphy along with 75 artworks crafted by Melissa Sunjaya that can only be seen by using red lens – a surreal and arty experience await you!
The Embassy of Italy and The Italian Culture Institute Jakarta are hosting classical guitar concert by Giordano Passini on August 18th at their auditorium in Menteng area. Starting at 7pm, the concert will see rendition of several classical tunes that any music lovers should not be miss.
The biggest wedding festival, Jakarta Wedding Festival, returns this year from August 19 to 21. Held at Jakarta Convention Centre, this year will see around 500 wedding vendors from Jakarta and Bali that will showcase many wedding-related offers, from wedding venues to photographer to catering.
Fly over to Yogyakarta on August 20 and 21 for Prambanan Jazz 2016 that will bring together an array of international and national musical talents for unforgettable performances against the country’s historical location. The musical talents will include Boys II Men, Rick Price, Rio Febrian, Kahitna, Glenn Fredly and Raisa. Gate open: 2pm.
On August 20th, Lookfest will return once again to Bandung with “Adventure of Sound” featuring musical performance line-up and local creative industry bazaar. Taking place at Secapa Ad, the event will see local talents like Elephant Kind, Mocca, Sigmun and Kevin and The Red Rose perform, while local gastronomy “Lookfat Eatery Area” will also be available.
We The Fest (WTF) will treat Jakarta to an immersive musical experience at Parkir Timur Senayan. Grammy award winners Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have chosen WTF as a fitting finale to their mammoth 2016 world tour. Uptown Funk mastermind Mark Ronson will also colour the lineup. Nightlife Updates: Queenshead in Kemang is inviting deep house lovers to their venue on August 12th where Classique Laura will be spinning from 11pm till late. For those who are in the mood to listen to throwback songs, The Safehouse at Bellagio Mansion will be throwing “Cream Artificial” party, promising good old hip hop and R&B jams on August 12th. Meanwhile, Australian singer/producer Hayden James and Dutch DJ Sam Feldt will be playing their hit singles at Dragonfly on August 13th as part of the club’s Tropical Paradise promotion.
The international pop culture convention in Indonesia, Popcon Asia, is back this year at Jakarta Convention Centre. The event that's taking place on August 12th to 14th will feature series of activities related to pop culture: masterclasses (digital illustration and cinematography by Oscar-winning Russell Carpenter), workshops (Manga making), portfolio review (displaying local comic talents) and graffiti live painting by Korean and Indonesian artists.
On August 13, The Mulia, Mulia Resort & Villas in Bali is hosting "Purple Rain", a tribute concert to the late legend Prince. Held at the resort’s ZJ’s Bar & Lounge, the evening will see The Voice’s winner Jermaine Paul belting hit songs from Prince’s Purple Rain album all night long.
American R&B band, Boyz II Men, will entertain their Indonesian fans once again in three cities: August 17th at Dyandra Convention Center in Surabaya, August 18th nat Eldorado in Bandung and August 20th at Candi Prambanan in Yogyakarta. Show time: 8pm.
