An array of interesting programmes is in store to celebrate the month of love and romance, with a fabulous festival, a dance extravaganza, and Canadian stand-up comedian Russell Peters.
On February 7th, rock band Incubus are set to entertain aficionados at Gambir Expo JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, in a special promo concert for their latest album 8. Adventurous as its title, the album's first single, “Nimble Bastard”, ranked 4th on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart in April 2017. Tickets start from Rp750,000.
Berlian Entertainment presents its annual music happening on February 10th, the Love and Fabulous Festival. Top artists to be featured at the fête range from Raisa, Andien and Sophia Latjuba up to D’Essentials, Yura and Tuan Tuan. US rock band Paramore are set to thrill fans of alternative rock in a concert organised by Sonic Live Asia on February 16th. The Grammy winning and Billboard top charted band comprising Hayley Wiliams, Taylor York, and Zac Afro are back with a phenomenal new live experience. Back by popular demand after the great success of its premiere in September 2017, “Petualangan Sherina” will thrill children of all ages at Teater Jakarta on February 16th. Produced by JKTMOVEIN and inspired by the blockbuster with the same name, the two-hour musical will run for four days. Tickets: Rp300,000-Rp600,000; showtimes: 2pm and 7pm.
On February 18th, Komunitas Salihara culture and arts centre in South Jakarta presents Jazz Sans Frontières III in a programme featuring guitarist Dewa Budjana at Black Box Theater, Salihara. The repertoire will be expansive and focused on musical collaborations with a string quartet and vibraphone. Tickets: Rp100,000; showtime: 8pm.
Russell Peters will bring his Deported World Tour to Jakarta at The Kasablanka on February 27th. The show will feature all-new materials, plus Peters’ signature interactions with the audience. Venue: The Kasablanka Hall; Tickets: Rp1m and Rp2.8m; showtime: 9pm.
