Founder of the successful herbal supplements and cosmetics company Mustika Ratu, B.R.A Mooryati Soedibyo is a pioneer who’s ahead of her time. Born into a royal Javanese family, Soedibyo was known for her audacity of defying traditions and started a business inspired by her royal upbringing: manufacturing herbal supplements, better known as jamu, as well as traditional cosmetics.
Meanwhile, Soedibyo is also known for her work in the beauty pageant foundation Yayasan Puteri Indonesia and has held the position of Vice Speaker for Indonesia's Consultative Assembly (MPR). She is also active in social, humanitarian and cultural activities.
Mooryati Soedibyo’s autobiography Menerobos Tradisi Memasuki Dunia Baru, The Untold Story invites readers to explore in depth her success story, from concocting her own jamu drinks in her garage to maintaining and developing Mustika Ratu, one of the biggest beauty companies in the country, which exports to nearly 20 countries, including Africa, Russia and Malaysia. The 500-page book is an interesting insight to Soedibyo’s life as a blue-blooded woman in the 70s and an inspiring innovator to many.
A special launch event for the book was held at the Mutiara Ballroom of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Mega Kuningan and was attended by many of the city’s diplomats and dignitaries. During the event, B.R.A Mooryati Soedibyo was accompanied by her loving children, Mr Djoko Ramiadji and Mrs Putri Kuswisnu Wardani.
