It is not every day that a star in her own right and style mistress with a rather keen eye turns to helping individuals gain incredibly stellar education in a new type of school where modernity meets natural elegance and the student body is such that the future rests on their shoulders.
There are three things we need to expand on here. Amal Clooney herself is a remarkable human being hell-bent on ensuring human rights and values are protected to the utmost. She is more than just a figurehead in the fashion industry, her choices in clothing often leaving us desiring more images of her around the world. Even during her Venice wedding, it became clear that this is a woman to be reckoned with in terms of style, but also has proved on many accounts including through helping bring the Armenian Genocide to the world’s notice, that she is indeed a woman with a golden heart. As a warrior of justice, it makes sense to see her shaking hands with Ruben Vardanyan and partnering with his 100 Lives project that was launched to support and celebrate the strength of the human spirit, both in Armenians themselves and as seen in those who tried their best to help those subjected to genocide in 1915.
The partnership for the scholarship is set to allow one female from Lebanon the chance to study at the international school of Dilijan, also known as the United World College, where the student body is diverse and the programs deliver a challenging and transformative educational experience. At the moment, UWC has 15 schools and colleges across five continents, with over 50,000 students from 181 different countries.
It is two years of study, where young people will come together and receive an education far different from what you find elsewhere. The ties of friendship that this college delivers are inseparable and will lead to a more global leadership. This is what awaits one lucky lady, said to be named Pamela Tebchrany, as she will make her way to Armenia, a country that few ever heard of and even fewer have been to. Here, it is not even the capital city where we can expect to see her, but in the resort town of Dilijan that is expected to grow quickly and soon surpass the capital with its modernity and forward-thinking.
As for the recipient’s profile, Pamela is a dedicated student who graduated top of her class and speaks French, English and Arabic fluently. Her interests lie in human rights and women’s equality. We look forward to seeing her in Armenia and applaud Amal Clooney on her dedication to everything human rights.
