Twenty years since its debut, the Porsche Boxster has established itself as the benchmark roadster. Now, a new generation of mid-engine two-seaters has been unveiled: the 718 Boxster and 718 Boxster S.

Powered by a newly developed range of flat four-cylinder "boxer" engines with turbocharging, the new models are more powerful yet more fuel efficient with fuel improvements up to 13 per cent. The new Porsche 718 Boxster develops 300 hp from its 2.0-litre engine, while the 718 Boxster S develops 350 hp from its 2.5-litre engine. The top speed of the 718 Boxster is 273 kph, and the 718 Boxster S's top speed is a whopping 285 kph.

Complementing the more powerful engines are a new suspension tuning and uprated brakes, ensuring the characteristically dynamic and emotive Boxster driving experience remains distinctive.

Design wise, the vehicle has been revised, except for the luggage compartment lids, windscreen and roof. The 718 Boxster has a wider and more purposeful appearance and is completed by the new design of the Bi-Xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. The rear of the 718 Boxster has also been redesigned, characterised by a much wider appearance.

In addition, the latest generation of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system comes with a state-of-the-art touchscreen and mobile phone preparation included as standard. A navigation module is available as an option.

The Porsche 718 Boxster and Boxster S are priced at £41,739 (Rp 796 Million) and £50,695 (Rp 967 Million), respectively, with the price based on the exchange rate of GBP to IDR as of Feb 22, 2016.
