To promote Indonesian batik's legacy, three renowned Indonesian designers Oscar Lawalata, Edward Hutabarat and Denny Wirawan held a fashion show titled "Batik For The World" at UNESCO House in Paris. The opening ceremony saw a series of stunning fashion shows consisting of 24 collections from the renowned designers. Putting the spotlight of global fashion on batik, they presented their creations, along with a historical exhibition of the unique Indonesian art form. The event was also inaugurated by the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Indonesia for UNESCO from Indonesian Embassy.

Meanwhile, around 100 Indonesian batik fabrics curated by the Indonesia Batik Foundation (YBI), Rumah Pesona Kain (House of Enchanting Fabrics) and Oscar Lawalata Culture will be exhibited in the main building of UNESCO headquarters, to be seen by thousands of world delegates who work in and traverse the area daily.
