When it comes to trends and styles, make-up has always been discussed with keen interest during each fashion season. And this season’s styles range from looking natural to playful artsy make-up, and, of course, luscious lipsticks that are impossible to ignore. Check out the hottest (and our most favourite) make-up trends of this season, curated especially for you!
Romantically Dark Lipstick
This fall has successfully called for more romantic dark lipstick with colours such as black or burgundy red becoming the season’s favourites as spotted on every runway show. From Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen and Christian Dior to Fenty x Puma, all are sporting modern gothic looks with darkly shaded lipsticks. They also come in matte and glossy textures as can be seen in M.A.C. Lipstick, Narsh Lip Pencil or Dior Gloss in dark shaded.
The classy look you get from simple red lipstick will never go out of style. You can dab it on your lips to make them blush a little, or just apply it outside the corners. Some of the fashion luxury brands that are selling red lipstick this season are PRADA, Roksanda and MSGM.
This season, pink colours come in bright pastels, which are proven to bring out youthful spirits on the runway. Gucci, Miu Miu and Tanya Taylor are a few names that have utilised one of the prettiest lipstick coloursof the season. The pink pastels also work with thick, natural eyebrows and look good as eyeliner.
The Eyes Have It
Make your eyes shine brighter with a thick-eyelash effect. Take a look at Anna Sui’s runway make-up, as well as Christian Dior and Jason Wu’s, with their models sent onto the catwalk with thick lashes. You can use fake eyelashes or even try eyelash extensions by professionals or just swipe mascara from Maybelline or Nina Ricci. For maximum impact, apply to both lower and upper lashes.
Natural ‘No-Make-up’ Make-up
This make-up style will perfectly fit anyone who likes to look natural with a fresh and clean look. Just a simple touch of foundation and soft pink lipstick will make you look fresh this September. Many designers, including Valentino, Coach and Tory Burch, also use this make-upstyle for their collections.
Silver and Gold Lids
Silver and gold eye lids are in this season with many variants to choose from, from warm golden bronze and electric blue to rose-coloured golden eye-shadow. Don’t forget the sparkling glitter as well as eyeliner in silver or metallic blue hues. Tatler Tip: Best suited to fair skin.
The catwalk shows will see artsy eye colours this season, as per Jeremy Scott’s, in which he put star shapes on the bottom of his models’ eyes, while Marques Almeida and Fendi went with neon colours, and Altuzara and Kenzo went with fun unique lines. To get the same look, you can try colourful shadow palates, or put bold lineson your lower lashes with colourful mascara, suchas blue or purple.
Glossy details are not only found in lipsticks—many designersopt to use them on their make-up, like eyelid gloss or glossy lips as seen in Christian Dior, makeup and Max Mara. We love these glossy details as well, since they give a wet look that is fresh, shiny and sleek.
