Do you remember the iconic saddle bag that was launched in the spring/summer of 2000? How could anyone forget it? It was a seen on every lady’s arms, from Paris Hilton to Beyoncé and many more. This autumn/winter, get ready to get excited again because the #DiorSaddle is back and even finer than it previously was. With its worldwide launch this week, we’re feeling all kinds of nostalgic.
This European luxury brand has come a long way since 1946, with its creative director now Maria Grazia Chirui. The iconic saddle was first launched in 2000 and was designed by John Galliano, who was Dior’s previous creative director. Galliano broke records when he launched the iconic saddle. Moving on to the newer collection, this saddle collection is influenced by a “desire for freedom”. Dior states that it is available in two formats. “Monochrome leather, a 1970s-inspired patchwork with the inscriptions PEACE AND LOVE DIOR [and] oblique canvas embellished with nine pieces of finely beaded embroidery” is what this collection is all about. Let’s just say, you’ll have a lot to choose from and the options are numerous. Just like the iconic saddle, each bag from this collection also carries a dangling “D”!
Let’s talk about the bag strap. Dior gives you the chance to carry it as a purse or as a cross-body bag to make things much simpler. The straps are reinvented and even more delightful now. “Like a chameleon, it adapts to all situations,” says Chiuri. What’s good about this bag is how it is the ideal accessory to carry during day or night. With the many different colours, designs, and patterns it’s available in, you definitely won’t have a hard time choosing. Perfect to match with every outfit, Dior has worked hard to make this timeless piece spacious and elegant. Sounds like the perfect grab and buy, doesn't it?
