Parisian luxury house Berluti recently opened its first store in Jakarta, in Plaza Indonesia, in partnership with brand-builder and retail organisation Time International. The 81-square-metre space displays the House's complete range of men's accessories, including shoes and leather goods.

The design of the new store reflects Berluti's universe in its blend of tradition and modernity. Material choices, including smooth wood, black-veined marble and Venezia leather, showcasing the House's emblematic patina, are the store's mainstay elements.

"We are proud to present the first Berluti store, a place created for the needs of the suave modern gentleman," said Time International President & CEO Irwan Danny Mussry. "The opening of the Jakarta store will bolster the brand's presence in this market."

Founded in Paris in 1895 by Alessandro Berluti, the House is renowned for making footwear exclusively for men, with each generation of the House cultivating the mastery of form and the craft of working with leather and patinas. It has expanded beyond footwear in the 21st century.

In 2005, fine leather goods were introduced, and it subsequently turned its shoemaking expertise to menswear. A ready-to-wear line was launched in 2011, and has transformed the French Maison from a heritage shoemaker into a luxury menswear label.

Attention to detail and compliance with the rules of cutting and assembly are the cornerstone of Berluti’s expertise. The Jakarta location joins the ranks of the House’s international stores in Paris, London, Milan, New York, Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Singapore and Hong Kong, among others.
