Burberry Prorsum may be irrefutably British, but Christopher Bailey's recent collection gave us the feeling that we had journeyed to the exotic locales of the Middle East and North Africa. Emphasis was placed on the fabrics, such as fringed suede for high-waisted skirts, ponchos, and slouchy bucket bags. Meanwhile, Durham quilts with paisley and florals were transformed into knee-grazzing dresses and cabans. Bailey also remodelled the house's iconic trench coat with traditional Indian techniques of Shisha (mirror embroidery) that rendered it almost unrecognisable when styled with a fringed plaid scarf.
