If you watched coverage of the Paris Haute Couture Week, you’ll know that there are loads of new looks that are worth gushing over. But if you missed it, don’t worry: we’ve got the best of the best for you. Here are the five runway beauty trends you definitely won’t want to miss.
If Karl Lagerfeld curls his models’ hair in two of his shows, you’d better believe it’s a trend. Curls seem to be a common hairstyle in the Paris Haute Couture 2016 collection. Not only did Fendi’s and Chanel’s models sport the look, some of Jean Paul Gaultier and Armani Prive’s models were also seen sporting curls.
Glittering red lips
There’s just something about Bella Hadid’s glittering red lips that draws us closer. The models of Atelier Versace, including Bella herself, wore this sultry look during the show. A juxtaposition of dark lipstick and bright speckles can create a rich combination. Maison Margiela’s models were also seen with glittery lips using a variety of colours and styles.
Let’s not forget that the recent Menswear show also sparked some trends. The wet hairdo won’t be going away anytime soon. Paired with great hairstyling, this look can give off an effortlessly clean look or an edgy one. Givenchy is trying to bring back this trend, so why don’t we give it another go?
During the colder seasons, it’s nice to have a pop of colour on your face. Jean Paul Gaultier did exactly that by using bold eye shadow effects on the models. Both Atelier Versace and Dior also used the same method, with the latter using eyeliner to create a dramatic look.
Hair pulled back
Whether it’s clean and sleek or structured and messy, fashion houses seem to be finding new ways for us to pull our hair back for the coming seasons. While Fendi and Chanel went with big hair accessories, namely fur ribbons and black bows, Valentino opted for small golden elastic bands. Meanwhile, two other houses chose to leave hair accessories behind. Ralph & Russo managed to create a beautiful way to braid their models’ hair back whereas Giorgio Armani Prive’s models graced the catwalk with a strong yet messy hairdo.
