Italian luxury house Fendi is bringing elegance and comfort in its men’s fall/winter collection 2016-2017. The concept can be seen in the featured fabrics made up of soft, fluid materials from silk and fur to knits, felted wool and shearling flaunted by the models on the runway in Milan.
The Creative Director for Fendi Men’s collection, Silvia Venturini Fendi, has once again proven why the combination of intimately playful and cosy domestic tones work for young men. The silhouette projected is soft and comfortable where we see belted coats transformed into elegant bathrobes and shirts elongated into coats. Next, knitwear can be found in forms of long and loose jumpers and braided bands that draw lines across coats and jackets with long, droopy scarves wrapped around the neck.
The art of playfulness comes alive this fall with Fendi’s checked designs found in its pants, coats and shirts, dominated mostly by subtle and welcoming hues of brown, green, grey and black fused into melting textures with flashes of bright red, yellow and light blue.
Another interesting element seen in this collection is the comic strip derived from newspapers and embellished in coats and jackets, while graphic designs are implanted onto T-shirts worn under colourful sweaters. Speaking of outerwear, Fendi also showcased several coats and jackets that are made of wool tailoring or even intarsia on fur. This factor extends in the fur slippers and sneakers with trekking details.
For accessories, Fendi turned up its cheekiness with its shopper bags and Selleria Peekaboo bags decorated with adorable #FendiFaces as well as big rucksacks. There are also bucket hats made of sheepskin in two classic colours: black and white.
