Sprawling across 4,200 square metres of land, Poppy Dharsono’s home is an articulate resemblance of an eco-friendly villa in Bali. The only difference? It is located minutes away from Jakarta’s inner ring road instead of a two-hour flight.
Made with natural stone and wood from Purwakarta and Solo, from where she hails, Poppy was the sole designer of her own residence. She chose to incorporate all five elements while building her house, fashioning it according to her strong belief in feng shui.
“I have another home in Pondok Indah that is modern and has an Italian feel to it, but when I bought this land from my mother, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it,” Poppy explains. Other than her love of interior designing, Poppy is President of Indonesia Fashion Week and has her own batik and cosmetics lines, Poppy Dharsono Fashion and Poppy Dharsono Cosmetics.
Poppy’s home is also adorned with artworks from local and international artists along with photographs of her extended family and close family members. With outdoor lounges, a swimming pool, a semi-outdoor guesthouse, and an outdoor gym, Poppy’s residence is indeed a welcoming haven among her close family and friends.
