Indonesia has seen huge growth in its middle-class, although it is no secret that last year was a challenge for the Indonesian property market. That said, the sector showed resilience and bounced back by launching quality projects on par with best developments in Southeast Asia, as noted by Terry Blackburn, founder and managing director of the Asia Property Awards.
Now, the Indonesia Property Award—part of the Asia Property Award’s regional programme organised by the PropertyGuru Group—is returning for a second year. The aim of the award is to honour the top and emerging names in the real estate industry, as well as to celebrate the best developers, projects and designs all around the archipelago.
This year’s competition comprises 23 developers in a total of 27 categories. The number entries also doubled from last year’s with more than 100 entries for 46 projects located in Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, Lombok and Makassar. Meanwhile, with a combined 32 nominations, the list of nominees is led by several big local names like Intiland Development, KG Global, Putragaya Wahana, Sinar Mas Land and Selong Selo Group.
Intiland Development earned a total of nine nominations with outstanding entries in the luxury condo, landed houses, retail, office and green development categories. KG Global, which was one of the big winners last year, collected nine nominations based on developments undertaken in its acclaimed Regent Residences Jakarta. Elsewhere, the Lombok-based Selong Selo received four nods.
The black-tie gala dinner will see 27 trophies given out, including Best High-Rise Residential Architectural Design, Best Mid-rise Residential Architectural Design and Best Residential Development, as well as Real Estate Personality of the year. More than 300 industry leaders and real estate professionals are expected to attend at the exclusive awards ceremony, which will be held on October 13 at the Fairmont Jakarta hotel where the winners of the shortlist categories and special awards will be revealed.
And the competition doesn’t end there: the top winners from Indonesia will move on to the grand finale in Singapore to compete at the 6th South East Asia Property Awards 2016 with their regional peers from seven ASEAN countries.
