Actress-turned-lawyer Nadia Saphira is not just another pretty face. She began her professional journey as an actress at the age of 15, a career that lasted for seven years, before she started working as a lawyer at Lucas S. H. & Partners, a litigation firm. Meanwhile, she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in law before she turned 30.

In between her busy schedule, we spoke to this bubbly and intelligent woman about some of her favourite things in life and why she is such a sports enthusiast.

Besides law, what are you passionate about?

I'm really into sports. I love Pilates and I love running and doing yoga. I even have a Muay Thai instructor who trains me at my house. I always tell myself: Nadia if you don’t take care of yourself, no one else will.

What do you love about living in Jakarta?

Since I was born here, I will always feel a connection with the city. You could say I love the familiarity I have with Jakarta. After living for many years abroad, being close to my family is also another thing that I am really grateful for.

How would you describe your personal style?

I am a really simple girl. I like to keep things simple and I wear things that are comfortable.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Looking back at what I have done in my life, like all the hard work that I have put in, I couldn’t ask for a much better outcome. I am proud to be where I am at right now.

Who is your inspiration in life?

My parents will always be the biggest inspirations.

What motto do you live by?

Expectations are the root of all disappointments. I try to live each day without thinking too far into the future. I do the things that are right in front of me right now and give them my best shot.

What do you usually do in your leisure time?

Besides exercising, I love binge-watching shows on Netflix at the weekends.

Tell us about your guilty pleasure.

Wasting time on social media is my guiltiest pleasure. I always feel bad after spending time on social media when I could be doing something much better with my time. But what can I say I am addicted! [Laughs]
