“My first job was in London where I worked at an accounting firm,” she says. “Unfortunately for my bank balance, but fortunately for my sense of style, the firm was located right behind Selfridges. Anyway, you can imagine what my lunch breaks involved—a lot of shopping and not much eating. But it was there that I realised the importance of dressing well and showing off your best self. It can transform your career and your life.”
Today Sen lives in Kuala Lumpur and works for her husband’s company, Kim Hin Industry, in the marketing department. However, she still adheres to the lessons she learned in London. Sen likes to combine brightly coloured dresses from brands such as Oscar de la Renta and Roksanda Ilincic, with accessories and jackets from labels such as Hermès, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.
“I think clothes are the easiest way to lift your mood,” she says. “If you’re feeling a bit low, wear a neon or print dress and you might feel better. I would describe my style as very feminine with a lot of luminosity. You hardly ever find black in my wardrobe, so preparing for the group shot wasn’t so easy, but it was good for me to step out of my comfort zone.”
