Our September cover girl, Cindy Angelina, recently launched her own beauty line, so we sat down for a chat, during our cover and fashion shoot, a while ago. Known as a model and also a businesswoman, previously working in the real estate field handling her family property business, Cindy has now expanded in other business, starting her own cosmetic company, ESQA.
Here, we talk to Cindy about her passion for fashion, beauty and more.
What does fashion mean to you?
The way I see fashion is that it’s meant to be fun! Fashion is a way you express yourself.
Who or what influences your personal style?
My inspiration for style would be Emmanuelle Alt, the editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris. As for my personal style, I like simple pieces and I like stuff that accentuates my body type. For example, I like to wear skirts or high-waisted pants because I have long legs.
What are your favourite labels or designers, and why?
Saint Laurent is one of my favourite designers because the pieces are simple, cool, you don’t look like you’re trying too hard, and they are comfortable.
What was your last purchase?
I just got some Gucci slippers in Milan during a recent trip.
Do you have any style tips/advice? What should women wear more (and less) of?
Don’t follow fashion trends blindly. Buy things that are comfortable and which accentuate your body type.
Are there any models who you admire?
I like Rosie Huntington because I feel that she’s more than just a pretty face. She’s very smart and she also has a make-up line with Marks & Spencer’s, so I love her.
How do you relax?
I recharge my batteries by spending time with my family and friends. Nothing makes me happier than a day with my family and friends.
What is your favourite vacation spot?
I just visited Switzerland with my family, but my ultimate favourite spot would be Mykonos in Greece. I was just there last year with my friends. I love it because everything is so beautiful.
What's the best dining experience you've ever had?
It's hard to pick one. But my favourite restaurant is Girogio Baldi in LA. I'm a big fan of pasta, and the pasta at Giorgio Baldi is really a must try.
What has been your proudest career moment?
Obviously ESQA, which was born out of my passion. I built everything from scratch. I had an amazing time learning with my team and every time I look at it, I feel proud about myself. That’s my dream job. And I really enjoy what I do because beauty is my greatest passion. Through beauty, I want to empower women.
What are your future goals?
I can’t think anything else right now besides growing ESQA as best as I can. And soon we will launch a blog on our website, so we will talk about beauty, tips and tricks, about styling, makeup tutorial, and much more.
