Beaming with smiles, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge proudly showed off their third child to the public just before 6pm on Monday. The duchess glowed with happiness in a beautiful red Jenny Packham dress while holding her newborn son, who weighed 3.8kg. The newborn prince was born at 11am on Monday with Prince William alongside the Duchess, who had been whisked to hospital at 6am Monday morning. Prince George and Princess Charlotte saw their new baby brother at 4.45pm before being taken home via the back exit of the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, London.
Prince William and Catherine reportedly decided not find out their baby’s gender until the delivery day. The new child is fifth in line to the throne and the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh’s sixth great-grandchild. Champagne corks could be heard popping outside the Lindo Wing as the birth of the new Prince of Cambridge was announced after 1pm.
As for the baby’s name, it is still unknown, but it will be announced in due course, with predictions ranging from Arthur, Albert, Frederik, James, and Philip. The Duchess is most probably going to be on extended leave to recover and nurse the newborn, but don’t worry: we will most likely see her attending Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding on May 19.
