Djarot Saiful Hidayat

Djarot Saiful Hidayat has been Deputy Governor of Jakarta since December 17, 2014, alongside Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama. His track record includes working as Mayor of Blitar, East Java, for two periods (from 2000 to 2010). He is known as a simple and popular public figure and has been deemed successful in improving the economy of Blitar, which led Blitar to winning the Adipura Award for cleanliness and environmental management in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Djarot Saiful Hidayat earned his Master's degree in social and political studies from University of Gajah Mada, Yogyakarta. He was a member House of Representatives from Indonesia Democratic Party Struggle or PDI-P (2014) and is married to Heppy Farida; the couple has four children.
