Megawati Soekarnoputri

The daughter of Indonesia's first president, Megawati Soekarnoputri is a seasoned politician with more than 20 years’ experience in leading the Indonesian Democratic Party (PDI), which changed its name to the Indonesian Democratic Party-Struggle (PDI-P) in October 1998. Megawati Soekarnoputri, born on January 23, 1947, was Vice President of Indonesia under President Abdurrahman Wahid, and from July 23, 2001 until October 20, 2004, she Indonesia's fifth president. In the recent presidential race in 2014, she helped Joko Widodo to become the country's seventh president.
