Srihadi Sudarsono is dubbed as one of the most prolific artists in the Indonesian arts scene. He received wide acclaim in 1982 for a series of paintings based on sketches he did in 1947. He graduated from the Bandung Institute of Technology in 1959, and completed his Master’s degree at Ohio State University in 1962. Honours and awards over the course of his career include the Tenth Sao Paolo Biennale (1969); the Contemporary Asian Art (Fukuoka Art Museum, 1980); The First Asia-Pacific Contemporary Art Biennale (1993); and Soul Ties: The Land and Her People, Art from Indonesia (Singapore Art Museum, 1999).
