With the increase in numbers of globetrotters in the past years, many travel companies are competing to offer new ways to explore the world. But choosing journeys based on travellers’ interests—be they exploring the world’s cuisines, architecture hotspots, aquatic wonders and romantic journeys—would be a new addition to the travel menu.
Star Alliance, which includes 28 member carriers like Air Canada, United and Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa and All Nippon Airways, is upping its ante with its new ‘Round the World’ globe-trotting adventures. The offer allows travellers to create themed itinerary from scratch: World Food, Natural Wonders, Romantic Journey and Luxury Lifestyle, among others.
The World Food themed journey will take food aficionados to savour a wide-range of dishes, from delicious kebabs in Istanbul to mouth-watering “Galbi” barbecued beef ribs in Seoul and the classic southern American cuisine of Houston. The food trip will also include Lyon and New Delhi.
For Natural Wonders, travellers will be taken to witness natural phenomena around the world, such as the magical Great Barrier Reef in Australia, Northern Lights in Tromso, Norway, the enchanting Popocatepetl volcano in Mexico and the picturesque Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro.
Lovers can see some of the world’s most beautiful sunsets, islands and beaches with the bespoke Romantic Journey. The itinerary will take lovebirds on a gondola ride down Venice’s canals, let them pose for pictures in front of the Eifel Tower and immersed themselves in the beautiful Lihue town in Hawaii.
The Luxury Lifestyle trip includes a shop-till-you-drop trip Singapore, rubbing shoulders with visiting royalty at an exclusive Swiss ski resorts and entertainment on the man-made Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Been there done that? Travellers can always take a stroll along Rodeo Drive in Hollywood and enjoy retail therapy with the movie stars.
Round the World’s passengers can customised their itinerary by choosing the closest airport to their home as starting point as well as adding, removing or exchanging destinations included in the package. The offer is available for First, Business, Premium Economy or Economy Class passengers. For more information, visit their website.
