In order to provide the best experiences for its customers, Garuda Indonesia is introducing a new promotion: The Star Chef Program, which will offer signature dishes by world-renowned chefs for its First Class and Business Class passengers on selected flights starting this month.

Three master chefs have been chosen for this task: Chef Will Meyrick, Chef Gilles Marx and Chef Felix Budisetiawan, who will take turns in presenting their delicacies. The first round goes to Chef Will Meyrick, who is renowned for fine-dining establishments such as Sarong, Tiger Palm, the E&O and Hujan Locale. His dishes can be enjoyed on Denpasar-Sydney and Denpasar-Melbourne return flight routes.

This "street food chef" plans to take contemporary Indonesian food and combine it with a fine-dining experience, with menus such as Tum Bebek, Ayam Betutu served with long-bean yellow coconut and peanut salad, and Balinese chocolate torte with candied orange and coconut cream.

Meanwhile, in March, passengers will be able to savour Amuz Chef Gilles Marx’s signature dishes, which blend French cuisine with Indonesian flavours, such as Smoked Salmon, Steamed Barramundi fish fillet and North Sumatra passion fruit parfait, among others. This offer will be available for passengers on Jakarta-Haneda return flight routes.

Last, but not least, it will be the turn of Chef Felix Budisetiawan from Sriwijaya Restaurant at the Dharmawangsa hotel to showcase his talents. Chef Felix will be offering modern Indonesian fine dining cooked using French techniques, with menus comprising Coriander Cured Salmon Carpacio, six-hour braised kalio-style beef short ribs and Klapper Tart for dessert.

Inspired by Indonesia’s warm hospitality and richly diverse cultures, the new service promises a unique and tangible experience for all the five senses.

“As a five-star airline, we are committed to continuously expanding our products not only to provide passengers with a unique and memorable experience on each of our flights, but also to set a new industry benchmark for premium air travel,” said Handayani, Garuda Indonesia’s Director of Commercial.
