Recently voted as the World’s Best Hotel by readers of Travel + Leisure magazine, Nihiwatu is a luxury island resort located on the far-flung island of Sumba in Eastern Indonesia. Set on a 560-hectre estate, it’s not surprising why travellers chose Nihiwatu to be their perfect sanctuary for a little quiet time.
Enhancing its approach to offering the “perfect escape”, Nihiwatu Resort has now launched a new wellness experience with its Nihi Oka Spa Safari. The spa will take place at the property’s one-bedroom Sumbanese-inspired villa named Uma Izzie, which is located in the picturesque Nihi Oka Valley. The journey to reach the valley itself will be exhilarating experience: a 90-minute trek is needed to reach the location, with travellers able to take in rolling hills, local villages and an abundance of rice fields on the way.
The spa programme features an unlimited number of pre-selected treatments offered in open-air bales located on the clifftops amid uninterrupted sea views. On arrival, guests will be greeted by the Nihi Oka team ready with fresh coconuts in their hands, followed by a trip to the private bales—but not before indulging in a hearty and healthy breakfast. Inside the private bales, guests will be under the care of Nihiwatu’s dedicated spa therapists for unlimited treatments.
For exclusive privacy, guests can also book the Uma Izzie Spa Safari, a Sumbanese-inspired one-bedroom villa for an overnight stay during an all-inclusive spa retreat. For more information, visit their website.
