Multitalented singer Rihanna is now collaborating with the Swiss watchmaker andjeweller Chopard with the announcement of a collaboration entitled “Rihanna loves Chopard.”
Co-designing two lines for the collaboration, Rihanna worked closely together with Chopard’s Co-President and creative director Caroline Scheufele, combining their creativity and passion to develop haute joaillerie and fine jewellery collections that blend urban chic with classic glamour.
“Rihanna and I collaborated closely on the collections, so you can feel her unstoppable energy, strongcreativity, and inherent sense of design in every piece,” says Scheufele. “With her unique style, she redefines the way people see and wear jewelry.”
Rihanna herself is enthusiastic about the collection. “I have always been in love with Chopard’s exquisite jewellery, so to actually design collections with them is something I still can’t believe,” says Rihanna. “It was a really incredible process and I learned so much! I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
The official debut of the haute joaillerie collection was in May 2017 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival and to celebrate Chopard’s 20th year as the official partner of Cannes. Rihanna herself wore a pair of floral-inspired multi-coloured chandelier earrings and a marquise-cut diamond solitaire ring to the Grammy Awards on February 12 and she also appeared on the cover of the March 2017 issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine wearing a pair of transformable diamond earrings.
This modern collection is inspired by Rihanna’s island roots—the lush gardens of Barbados and the electricity of Carnival. The fine jewellery line is equally stunning.
Set to drop in June, this limited-edition ninepiece capsule collection features minimalist, geometric designs crafted with sharp and clean lines. There is Chopard’s signature Ice Cube shape, which is incorporated into rings, bangles and necklaces, and paired with materials such as coloured ceramic.
Linear rectangular motifs link frosty rose gold cubes with solid ceramic blocks in a colour personally selected by Rihanna: Jungle Green. Crafted from Fairmined 18ct rose gold, this collection will be available with icy polished or diamond set gold cubes.
