The opening ceremony of the 73rd Venice Film Festival, which runs until September 10, was attended by a throng of celebrities from all over the world. But during the opening ceremony, all eyes were on Gemma Arterton and Bianca Balti, who walked down the red carpet with an extra sparkle thanks to their special jewellery by Chopard’s Green Carpet Collection.
Actress Gemma Arterton sparkled in a pair of statement earrings from the Green Carpet Collection in white fairmined gold 18ct set with two pear-shaped emeralds, round diamonds of 4.5ct and marquise-cut diamonds of 10.3ct. The Quantum of Solace actress combined the Chopard earrings with natural smoky-eye make-up and a long black dress exuding class and elegance.
Meanwhile, the Italian model Bianca Balti wore a stunning necklace from the same collection, but in white, fairmined 18ct gold set with 1 pear-shaped emerald in 22 carats, pear-shaped diamonds of 60ct and gorgeous diamonds. The necklace suited her perfectly, highlighting her eyes and skins.
The green emeralds are responsibly mined at Gimfield’ Kagem mine in Zambia and the diamonds are sourced from a producer who is an RJC -certified member. The gold comes from artisanal mines in South America which are also fairmined certified.
Since 2013, Chopard has initiated the ambitious project, “The Journey to Sustainable Luxury”, to help nudge the watches and jewellery industry towards sustainability, bringing together both ethics and aesthetics. The partnership with mining company Gemfields is part of this project.
