Roger Dubuis is well-known over the world for its boldly audacious and extravagant, high-performing timepieces. Hailing from Sant’Agata Bolognese, Lamborghini is the legendary carmaker of some of the world’s most iconic supercars. In terms of personality, design philosophy and daring customer experiences, the two powerhouses could not have found better collaborators.

Working together with the engineers of Lamborghini Squadra Corse—the carmaker’s motorsport division—Roger Dubuis has come up with a timepiece that breaks conventions and pushes boundaries. Swiss precision and mechanical expertise merge with Italian flair and performance in the Excalibur Aventador S.

A brand-new calibre was developed to power this unique watch. The specially developed Duotor calibre was inspired by the classic Aventador S engine and the new groundbreaking Huracàn Super Trofeo EVO. Engine strut bars revisiting Roger Dubuis’ Astral Skeleton principle distinguish the calibre from the rest of the movement.

Meanwhile, the Huracàn Super Trofeo EVO, unveiled alongside the new calibre, is the latest racing supercar. Working with the famed team at Dallara Engineering, Huracàn Super Trofeo EVO is significantly improved in terms of appearance, safety and performance. Look out for this marvelous machine at Lamborghini’s races next spring.

Taking cues from the performance-enhancing longitudinal placement of Lamborghini engines, the double balance wheel is inclined at a similar angle, supported by holders shaped like triangular wheel suspension assemblies. The engineers and designers complete the aesthetic with a charming power control display in the middle of the watch, just like in the sports car.

The Excalibur Aventador S comes in two spectacular models epitomising the watchmaker’s motto of “dare to be rare”. The first is a limited edition of 88 pieces in the signature Lamborghini “Giallo Orion” yellow. The second is a limited edition of eight pieces in “Arancio Argos” orange. The same multi-layered carbon and C-SMC carbon used in Lamborghini’s supercars can be found in the latter.
