Roger Dubuis’ Blossom Velvet is a timepiece that pays homage to the beauty of a woman’s inner diva—that fatal combination of sensuality and glamour. Available in two colours, splendour pink and blue, the 36mm case is rimmed with two rows of brilliant-cut diamonds adorning the bezel and lugs, transforming the Velvet’s classic central “third lug” into a precious link.
These sparkling gems surround the mother-of-pearl dial, which is graced with an engraved and sculpted floral marquetry motif, while the signature Velvet central tonneau or barrel shape is delicately accentuated by white diamonds. To ensure its unique design, gifted artisans have played with softly curved shapes to form a unique floral décor set against the thick plate of blue Grand Feu enamel proving Roger Dubuis’ new commitment to breaking boundaries in both aesthetics and in technical timepieces.
At the heart of each sparkle, a diamond in a prong-free, gold-tube bezel setting is inserted into the centre of the flower showcasing the Haute Joalllerie expertise cultivated by the Swiss brand. Beneath this vibrantly “alive” dial with its clever depth effects ticks a mechanical self-winding movement with a 48-hour power reserve; the Calibre RD821 bears the iconic Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark, a guarantee of finest craftsmanship.
Embracing the curves of the feminine wrist, the shimmering satin-finish fabric strap provides a perfectly smooth, lustrous backdrop for its 154 1.9-carat diamonds matched with an ornamental dial. The strap is also clasped in place by a pink-gold adjustable folding buckle set with brilliant-cut diamonds.
The Blossom Velvet is a unique piece and it is the first model of a series of five novelties for the Velvet collection.
