Piaget, the luxury watchmaker and jeweller, has announced award-winning actor Ryan Reynolds as its new international male brand ambassador for its watches. The Deadpool star has followed in the footsteps of fellow Hollywood actor Jessica Chastain, who became Piaget’s female international ambassador last year.
According to Philippe Léopold- Metzger, Piaget’s CEO, the actor is blessed with the right “blend of elegance and charisma”, which makes him the right man to lead the brand. “[Ryan’s] remarkable and daring on-screen performances paired with his magnetic good looks have earned him a place as one of Hollywood’s leading men. Like Piaget, he fearlessly brings creativity to his art,” said Metzger.
For Ryan himself, he said he is delighted to join the brand’s family. “I’ve known of Piaget since I was just a little kid. You can’t find a more iconic brand or one which better exemplifies craftsmanship, elegance and creativity. This is something that means a lot to me,” said the 39-year-old Canadian actor.
In the campaign, the Canadian-born actor uses his trademark smirk for the camera as he makes eye contact and shows off a classic timepiece from the brand. “I work in a field in which things can be cast away quite quickly. So when you find something iconic, something timeless, it’s important. And that’s one of the many things I love about Piaget,” he said.
