An artistic soul, Erlina’s dream of attending art school was put on hold until the creative entrepreneur decided to leave the corporate world and passionately pursue her dream. Her wedding cakes, whimsical and filled with fantasy, are embodiments of her unbridled imagination. “My wedding cakes are often inspired by my love of fashion. They are mostly inspired by the beautiful things around me, including the clothes in my closet. I’m always drawn to the details of the beads, sequins, laces or ruffles in my gowns and try to bring them to life through my sugar art,” she tells.
Designing couture cakes for select clients, Erlina donates a portion of her profit to art schools in Bali and Sumba to help the unfortunate children. “I have always wanted to attend art school, but I didn’t have the opportunity. Now, I want to give budding artists the chance to enroll in art schools,” says the bright eyed cake designer who learned her sugar art from some cake decorators including Peggy Porchen and Maggie Austin Cakes (a cake decorator for the White House every Christmas).
