April Week IV

Marshmello concert in jakarta.jpgAmuz Gourmet is hosting its regional wine dinner series IV 2017 on April 26th. The dinner entitled “Domaine Paul Jaboulet Wine Dinner” will feature Paul Jaboulet wines and Amuz’s Chef Gilles Marx’s delicious menus. For more information, read here.

Held from April 27-May 7 at JIExpo Kemayoran Jakarta, the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMC), a much-awaited event in the year, will roar into action. The IIMC is one of the biggest annual automotive expos and presents many high-end branded vehicles. Showtimes: Monday-Thursday at 11.00am-9.00pm; and Friday-Saturday at 10.00am-9.00pm. Tickets: weekdays Rp 40,000; and weekends Rp 60,000.

Oku Japanese restaurant at Hotel Kempinski, Jakarta is celebrating its one-year anniversary on April 28th. The celebration will present a special seven-course omakase wine dinner crafted by Chef Kazumasa Yazawa and will be paired with Australian Penfolds wine. The wine dinner is priced at Rp 1,700,000++. The annual Jakarta Wine & Cheese Run (JWCR) is back in its fifth year on April 30th at La Piazza South Lobby in Kelapa Gading. The race will involve runners from around the world, Asia-Pacific and Europe, and will offer grand prize Budapest Marathon in Hungary for six lucky winners. For more information, click here.

Dia.Lo.Gue Artspace is hosting Nindityo Adipurnomo’s solo exhibition entitled ‘Unit Produksi Berita’ in collaboration with 10 Dia.Lo.Gue Artspace’s stakeholders and aims “to present an appreciation to arts in an ‘ancient way’ by upholding the subjective and sensory power, and preceding personal experience from individuals in modern society group in Jakarta”. Nightlife Updates: Bauhaus is celebrating its third anniversary with an underground masquerade ball on April 26th from 7pm onwards and will feature P Double, Jeremy Jay and Aditya Permana; Domain is inviting party-goers to dance to Tropkillaz on April 28th; Parc19 Bistro and Terrace is inviting Indonesian band Nidji to perform on April 30th as part of their Saturday Night Live event.

 

April Week II

Concerts: This week’s long weekend will see three stellar performances from international DJs: Yellow Claw and Matthew Koma, and Indonesia’s singer sensation, Rossa. Read the complete details in the below slides.

Galeri Nasional is presenting artist Triyadi Guntur Wiratmo’s solo exhibition ‘Between The Lines’ starting from April 11-23 from 10am to 6pm. The exhibition is collaboration between Galeri Nasional with Rachel Gallery and will feature 15 of his paintings. For more information, click here.

Also on April 15th, GoetheHaus is teaming up with 42nd Street Production to host ‘Mad About Broadway’ that will feature songs from Miss Saigon, Chicago, Cabaret and many more. Fee: Rp 125,000.

Erasmus Huis is hosting a screening of documentary film called ‘Jaji’ on April 13th. Meanwhile, the Dutch cultural centre will also host a piano recital by young Dutch pianist Tobias Borsboom on April 15th, starting from 7.30pm.

Negev Restaurant is inviting those aspiring pastry chefs for a cooking class entitled ‘Drunken Dessert’ on April 15th. Participants will be guided by executive chef Doddy Jie on how to make unique dessert with the elixirs of your choice. Time: 10am; Fee: Rp 500,000 net.

For those who are planning to watch something different this weekend, Kinosaurus is hosting several movie screenings. The new film from Angga Dwimas Sasongko ‘Bukaan 8’ will be screen on April 14, while Adriyanto Dewo’s ‘Tabula Rasa will be screen on April 16.
