“Saint Laurent is as much about attitude as it is spectacle,” said Anthony Vaccarello of his Spring/Summer 2020 collection.
This season, Anthony Vaccarello took inspiration from what the fashion house created throughout the 20th century and channelled it into a modern and contemporary design in the SS2020 collection. Paying homage to the classic Le Smoking suits, Vaccarello sending out versions of the classic in a thousand shades of black on the runway.
Applying his signature rock-inspired aesthetic, the range saw an experiment of materials which ranged from tailored jackets, chiffon blouses, black tuxedos, pleated lamé skirts, long fluid dress, shorts to high boots.
Consisting a total of 78 looks, the collections was closed off by none other than Naomi Campbell, who wore a sequin two piece suit that glittered in the spotlights.
All in all, the sharp take on Saint Laurent classics devised to strengthen individuality. The collection, which embodies the past and present, are layered together to create a timeless silhouette and imaginary voyage.
