First built in the 1950s, the Sands Hotel & Spa in Indian Wells, California has undergone a complete redesign. Under the charge of Los Angeles-based designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, the American boutique hotel’s revitalised interiors now feature an alluring mix of Moroccan-inspired details, desert rose tones and rich accents of emerald green and deep blue, with each of its 46 rooms individually decorated. The property is also a short drive from the venue of the inaugural Coachella music festival.

The work of London-based design practice Michaelis Boyd, the Ryse hotel is awash in pastel hues, with every corner a chic tableau of decorative pieces. Situated within the Hongdae district in Seoul, Korea, the property is part of the Autograph collection by the Marriott Group— it features rooms inspired by creative nomads, ranging from the iridescent details of the Artist suite to the serene blues of the Creator room.

With its retro-inspired interiors and exuberant use of millennial pink, it’s easy to see why the Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel in Spain has been the talk of the town. The latest project by the Ibiza-based Concept Hotel Group, the property was designed in collaboration with Madrid-based studio Ilmio Design. Drawing influence from the works of Italian architect Ettore Sottsass and the hotel’s Art Deco-style facade, its interiors are furnished with a colourful array of pieces characteristic of the seventies.

Its immanently photogenic pool area is unmissable—celebrating the dynamic energy of the hotel location at San Antonio Bay. The multi-functional venue plays host to live music performances, film screenings and party nights. Another key element of the hotel is art, which is seen in street art gallery Adda; while the Zero suite—a voyeuristic glass-box space at the hotel lobby—is a part of the multidisciplinary artist residency programme and a venue for performance art.
